Goods & Service Tax Registration can be done online through the GST portal. The Process to obtain Goods & Service Tax Registration is easy & free. Businesses having Aggregate total turnover during the relevant previous year is more than Rs. 40 lakhs (Rs. 10 Lakhs for North Eastern & Hilly States) are mandatorily required to have GST Registration. The procedure for registration under GST is mentioned below-
- Visit Goods & Service Tax Portal online at www.gst.gov.in
- Click on the Services option.
- Select the New Registration option
- Fill in all the details & then click on Proceed button.
- Enter both the One Time Password (OTP) sent to your Mail Id & Mobile No.
- TRN (Temporary Reference Number) will be displayed on the screen. Note Temporary Reference Number.
- Revisit Goods & Service Tax Portal, click on New Registration under the Services option
- Select the option of Temporary Reference Number
- Enter TRN & Captcha details & click proceed
- Enter OTP (One Time Password) received on the registered Email ID and Mobile Number.
- Application Status will be applicable on the next page. Click on the Edit icon and fill in all the details & upload the required documents as per the type of Business.
- Verify all the details before submitting.
- After Submitting the Application, Application Reference Number (ARN) is generated.
- Obtain GST Registration Certificate from the Portal.
