Deadline Gone but Glitches Remains; New Income Tax Portal

The tax payers are still facing problems in the new Income tax portal, while deadline till 15th September given to the developer Infosys has been passed. Tax experts, who use the portal for various functions, said the website continues to face multiple glitches.

The portal which went live on 7th June, has been continuously plagued with technical glitches. Several users posted images on social media of the issues they faced while accessing the portal to file their I-T returns.

On 23rd August, 2021 https://manthanexperts.com/government-summons-infosys-new-income-tax-portal/, Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman had held a meeting with Infosys CEO Salil Parekh in this regard and set 15th September as the deadline to resolve all pending issues.

“For individuals, it is difficult to file. Some of the features such as pre-filled form for interest payments on FD and others are still not updated,” said Chandan Kumar Hegde, president of the Karnataka State Chartered Accountants’ Association. “We have made presentations (to the government and Infosys). Maybe 50-60 percent of it is implemented.”

However, in this regard Infosys has not replied yet to P.T.I.
