The Central Government has approved then of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery storage with an outlay of Rs 18,100 crore.
Proposal have been approved for achieving manufacturing capacity of 50 Giga WattHour (GWh) of ACC and 5 GWh of ”Niche” ACC. The incentive amount will increase with increased energy density and Domestic Value Addition. (DVA)
However, each selected manufacturer would have to setup an ACC manufacturing unit of minimum 5GWh capacity ensuring minimum 60 percent DVA at the project with 5 year.
Further, the firm have to achieve a DVA of at least 25 percent and incur investmentthe mandatory Rs 225 crore per GWh within 2years and raise it to 60 percent DVA within 5 years.
