CBIC has extended the time limits for filing returns GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B for the period October 2020 to March 2021.

As per the Notification No.75/2020 issued on 15th October 2020, the Central Board of Indirect taxes and Customs (CBIC) has extended the time limit for furnishing return GSTR-1 for registered persons having aggregate turnover exceeding Rs 1.5 crore in the preceding financial year or the current financial year for each of the months from October 2020 to March, 2021till the 11th day of the succeeding month.

Further, Notification No. 76/2020 provides, Return in FORM GSTR-3B for each of the months from October 2020 to March, 2021shall be furnished electronically through the common portal, on or before the 20th day of the succeeding month.

Further provided, taxpayers having a place of business under group1 states with an aggregate turnover up to Rs 5 crore in the previous financial year shall furnish GSTR-3B, on or before the 22nd day of the month succeeding such month.

However, taxpayers having a place of business under group2 states with an aggregate turnover up to 5 crore rupees in the previous financial year shall furnish GSTR-3B, on or before the 24th day of the month succeeding such month.
