Banks to be Closed for 16 Days in January

The Reserve bank of India has issued the list of holidays for January 2022. Accordingly, banks will be closed for almost 16 days in January next year.

As per the RBI’s list, nine days in January are holidays, excluding the six days of weekends (2nd and 4th Saturdays and Sundays).

However, in the closing days online banking services will continue to operate and also the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) will work.

Here’s the bank holidays list for January 2022:

1st January, New Year: Banks will remain closed across country
2nd January: Sunday
4th January, Losoong: Banks will remain closed in Sikkim.
8th January: second Saturday
9th January: Sunday
11th January, Missionary Day: Banks will remain closed in Mezoram.
12th January, birthday of Swami Vivekananda: Banks will remain closed in Kolkata.
14th January, Makar Sankranti: Banks will remain closed in many states
15th January, Pongal: Banks will remain closed in many states
16th January: Sunday
18th January, Thai Poosam: Banks will remain closed on in Chennai.
22nd January: fourth Saturday
23rd January: Sunday
26th January, Republic Day: Banks will remain closed across the country
30th January: Sunday
31st January for Me-Dam-Me-Phi: Banks will remain closed in Assam
